An indispensable activity in traditional New Year in Korea is New Year greetings. Koreans often wish New Year by bowing or kneeling before their elders and saying good luck and health to them. Elderly people will respond with a hug or caress on the person’s head to wish each other a happy new year and exchange lucky money envelopes, gifts, etc.
