- Itinerary
8:00 – 8:30 a.m: Our guide and the car pick you up at Chan May Port (pick up outside port) and move to Hue city center to start the Hue city full-day tour. We will help you enjoy a wonderful trip which is full of fun and interesting experiences.
After 1 hour we will arrive at Hue Center and start sightseeing:
9:30 a.m: Visit Hue Imperial Citadel – Imperial city, the home of Vietnam’s last royal dynasty – the Nguyen Dynasty.
Especially, you can explore Kien Trung Palace – one of the most magnificent palaces in the Imperial City of Hue, which holds high artistic value and has been restored. The construction of this palace began in February 1921, and it served as the workplace for King Bao Dai and King Khai Dinh, the last two emperors of the Nguyễn Dynasty.
11:30 a.m: Visit and have lunch at Ben Xuan Garden House Theatre.
Ben Xuan is situated at the most beautiful site of the Perfume River. Ben Xuan’s royal architecture style makes it fits well with the Cultural Heritage of Thien Mu Pagoda and the Temple for Literature in the immediate environment on the river shore. Ancient materials – hundreds of thousands of bricks from the palace ruins aged more than a hundred years and still bearing the burnt-in stamps of the royal construction armies, tons of broken porcelains from sunken trading ships of the time bygone, various old woods from pulled down patrician houses – had been collected and upcycled for the new construction of Ben Xuan.
1:30 pm: Continue to visit the Huong River Antique Pottery Museum.
At a spacious garden house in Kim Long ward, visitors have a chance to admire thousands of potteries picked up from the Huong River as well as other places. These valuable antiques date back to the 17th, 18th and 19th century.
Formerly, it was a space where ancient potteries found on the Huong River collected by Prof. Dr. Thai Kim Lan, a Vietnamese-born German and her elder brother, late painter Thai Nguyen Ba collected over nearly 40 years were on display.
2:30 p.m: The car takes you back to Chan May Port and drops you off at the hotel. Finish the trip!
