Vườn quốc gia Phong Nha – Kẻ Bàng 

Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park has an area of more than 123.000 ha, is a special nature reserve of Central Vietnam. This national park was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage according to geological and geomorphological criteria in 2003, and was recognized for the second time as a World Natural Heritage with the criteria of biodiversity and ecology in July 3 / 2015.

Phong Nha – Quang Binh is famous for its beautiful and unique caves with more than 300 caves. Among them, Son Doong cave – the largest cave in the world, Thien Duong cave – the longest cave in Asia and En cave – the cave with the largest field in the world.

Place is also home to many historical and cultural relics, such as: Vung Chua – Yen Island, Tunnel National Monument, Lang Chai Cua Tung National Monument and Tam Toa Church National Monument.

Best time to travel to Phong Nha

Phong Nha is famous for its caves and breathtaking scenery. Therefore, the most suitable time to travel Phong Nha is from April to August, when it is dry, little rain and warm sunshine.

Coming to Phong Nha around this time, we can explore caves such as Son Doong cave, En cave, Phong Nha cave, Thien Duong cave,… We can also experience adventure activities such as: trekking, kayaking, ziplining, scuba diving. 

Besides the caves, we should also visit other tourist attractions at this time. Some other fun places for a trip to Quang Binh in the summer include: Dong Hoi beach, Chay Lap village and Bo Trach village.

Famous relics in Phong Nha

Son Doong cave: The largest cave in the world, up to 9km long, 200m high and up to 150m wide. With many unique landscapes such as: underground river system, primeval forests, wild animals and natural limestone columns,…

Phong Nha Cave: The cave has the longest underground river system in the world, up to 13km long. In the cave there are many interesting limestone lobes such as Tay Thien palace, Chua island, Ngua island and Dragon island.

Thien Duong cave: Is a cave with many of the most beautiful stalactites and stalagmites in the world. With a length of 31km, the cave has many spacious caves room such as: Cung Dinh cave room, Than Tien cave room and Troi cave room.

Toi cave: This is a cave worth exploring for those who love adventure activities when visiting Phong Nha. The cave is 5km long, it is part of the Chay – Trooc underground river system. Swimming, climbing, kayak and zip-line will bring many exciting feelings with these adventurous activities.

En cave: This is a cave inhabited by many swallows, with a length of 1.6km. En cave has many white sand beaches, blue ponds and natural light creating a magical scene.

In addition to the caves in Phong Nha mentioned above, when coming to Quang Binh we can also explore many other famous relics. Some famous relics in Quang Binh can be mentioned as:

Vung Chua – Yen Island: It is the resting place of General Vo Nguyen Giap, a national hero who led the Vietnamese army to victory against the French and the Americans.  Located on a hill overlooking the sea, the tomb is a solemn and respectful tribute to the legendary general. If you are looking for a peaceful and scenic place to visit, Vung Chua – Yen Island is a great choice.

Hoanh Son Quan: Is a historical site located on the top of Deo Ngang, a mountain pass in Quang Binh province, Vietnam.It is known as the “sky gate” of Deo Ngang, as it offers a stunning view of the mountains and the sea.

Hoang Son Quan is a place where you can admire the ancient architecture, learn about the history, and enjoy the natural beauty of Vietnam.

Len Ha Cave – famous historical site in Quang Binh: Used to be a hiding place for soldiers during the resistance war against the US. Place has many caves and small caves connected to each other, with relics of a power plant, a medical station and a school. The cave also has many rare animals, such as: swiftlets, bird nests, cave fish and hanging snakes.

Len Ha Cave is an attractive ecotourism destination, attracting many domestic and foreign tourists.

Tam Toa Pagoda: The ancient pagoda was built in the 17th century and is one of the most famous and oldest Buddhist architectural works in the Central region.

Tam Toa is not only a place of practice and worship for Buddhists, but also an important historical and cultural relic of Quang Binh. The pagoda has witnessed many historical events of the Vietnamese people.
